Natural Reserve “Vorobievy Gory”
Natural Reserve “Vorobievy Gory” is located on the high right bank of the Luzhnenskaya Bend of the Moskva River.
People inhabited the Vorobievy Gory even in the Stone Age. Scientists find rests of settlements of the Diakovskaya culture (early Iron Age) in the deposit depth. Here Ivan the Terrible found shelter from the fire in 1547; Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich lived here with his family in the middle of the XVII century. Famous historical and cultural memorials, Andreyevsky Monastery and Mamontova Cottage are situated in the natural reserve area.
It is one of the most beautiful places in Moscow. The high right bank of the Moskva River has always been attractive due to its thick forests, rugged relief and wonderful panorama opening at the river.
